My Go-To Apps (Dec 2018)

Apps. They crash, incur repeat monthly costs that often go unnoticed until tax time, it’s often hard to find the right ones for the job, and sometimes they are just all-round clunky (am I right?), but at the end of the day, managing your socials is done almost solely and wholly on phone applications. So, if you want some quick and (most importantly) easy to use apps to help manage your social media, you’ve come to the right place! Here’s my list of go-to apps that help me do my job on a daily basis…

The Social Media Apps

That’s right, we’re talking Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, Twitter, Gmail, Youtube, and SnapChat. Obvious answer, right? These are the ones on steady rotation every time I pick up my phone (which is a LOT according to the latest iOS update - Thanks Apple!), and should be pretty standard if you’re on any of the major social media platforms. That’s not to say you need all of them, however it would be naive to think that you should leave Facebook and Gmail for desktop. The reality is that having them on your phone gives you opportunity to engage (stay tuned for December 18th) whenever, wherever, which is imperative for the success of your brand on socials.

Plann

Under my Social Media Apps, Plann is my absolute favourite app that has ever existed. with Instagram being my social media app of choice, Plann gives me the opportunity plan out how my Instagram feed is going to look weeks and months ahead! It gives you hashtag suggestions, and you can batch the hashtags into categories that you can then copy and paste whenever you need! You can edit images, put together captions, and schedule (and by schedule, it sends you a notification when it’s time to post) posts all in the one app. The BEST part is that I can manage all my clients’ Instagrams in it, and it’s super easy to switch between them !

Paypal

Dealing with money can be a pain, despite whether you’re paying for Christmas presents, or managing a business, but when it comes to invoicing clients and paying for apps/business expenses, Paypal makes it so easy! The Paypal app shows you your balance, and all your activity which makes it really handy when your chasing up clients while you’re out and about!

Canva

I cannot recommend Canva enough. Whilst starting up my business, I realised how important graphic design is to branding, yet I didn’t have the budget to spend on it! Canva saved me on more occasions than one, and is still my go-to when I need to create quick quotes, infographics, or different types of basic presentations. It has so many stock images and icons, and you can pretty much do anything your imagination can fathom.

Adobe Suite

I don’t use all the Adobe apps as much as I know I should, however Photoshop Mix has been a really helpful tool when it comes to creating custom images that look great on the run. It’s a great tool when editing images, and making sure they’re on brand with the rest of your fee or website!

Google Drive

Last but certainly, definitely, not the least, Google Drive is an absolute, freaking life saver. Google Drive gives me access to all my photos, reports, spreadsheets, and documents from any device in the world as long as there’s internet. Not only that, it’s such a hub for collaboration - you can get people involved with your documents, see who’s on the page at the same time, and send directly to clients for perusal. If that doesn’t make your life easier, I don’t know what will!

With so many things demanding your time and concentration, there’s a plethora of apps that can make your life easier, so that you can spend more time on the things that you enjoy doing, and let the rest take care of itself!

Do you agree with our list? What would you add?
