How to create effective Reels WITHOUT dancing 🙌🏽
You’ve heard it a million and one times - Reels are HOT right now, and if you’re not making them, you’re missing out.
Look, I’m not the first to say, they are time consuming to make, and often drain your energy. Not to mention, they are an introverts worst nightmare: dancing on Instagram in front of hundreds or thousands of random humans?
How about no 🙅🏼♀️
BUT I’m here to tell you that there are ways to create Reels that are engaging, build your know, like and trust factors, AND won’t take you 15 hours to create
And there is NO dancing required!
Here we go 👇🏼
1.Instructional
Whether it’s pointing to instructions, giving a birds eye perspective of the creation process, or demonstrating how to use something face to camera, there’s plenty of ways that you can create instructional Reels that will not only show how to use your product or service, but will also serve as a value add content post in your feed.
No face bonus: Not up for showing your face? No worries! Screen recordings of how to do something, or the purchasing process on your website are great ways to create an effective instructional Reel without showing your face at all #yourewelcome
2. Behind the scenes
We’re a big fan of documenting rather than creating, and Reels are no exception. Grab snippets of your day, your meetings, your creating sessions, or your packing orders time, and bring them together to make a REELy effective behind the scenes Reel that not only highlights the bits and pieces of your day that often don’t get highlighted on social media, but to also increase your personal connection content in your feed.
No face bonus: Because Behind the Scenes Reels are from your perspective, you can often get away with not featuring you at all! Take snap shots or timelapses from behind your head, or featuring your hands doing stuff (packing orders, creating content etc) to really avoid featuring you in creative ways.
3. Trending sounds
You’d be flat out trying to find trending sounds that don’t featuring lipsyncing or dancing, but we’re here to tell you that there are plenty of ways to use trending sounds to show off your products. Before and afters or packing orders work really well to most trending sounds. Be sure to listen out for the beat in the song, and make all your transitions as close to the beat as you can for them to be really effective.
No face bonus: Stop motion is another Reel technique that also works really well with most trending sounds! Taking a heap (like, a heap of photos) and popping them into a real, keeping them on the screen for about .2 seconds each is a really great way to show off your products in a fun and effective way.
There are so many ways that you can show up on Reels that not only is easy and quick to put together, but also don’t have to feature you dancing, pointing, lip syncing, or just you in general if you’re not comfortable with it just yet!
