Gabbi J's Sumer Bucket List
We. Love. Summer.
There’s not really anything about summer that we don’t like - it’s mango season, you can go to the beach whenever you want, the abundance of flowy, floral tops, and iced coffee… Need we say more? And what better place in the world (this is a discussion I’m willing to have!) to spend Summer than in Australia!
More specifically, Brisbane ☀️
So, we put together a bit of a Summer Bucket List of things we want to do around Brisbane before the dreaded cold weather sets in again.
Climb as many mountains as we can (some of our favourites are Mt Coolum and White Rock)
Catch Elf at the Southbank Christmas Cinema
Swim at Gardner Falls
Celebrate New Years Eve at Falls Festival in Byron Bar
Get that Insta-worth Sunflower Field shot at the Southern Downs
Gather the squad and watch a movie at the Yatala Drive-in (BYO snacks)
Walk across to King Island from Wellington Point
Play tourist by going on a tour of Brisbane City
Have a rainbow latte from Piggy Back Cafe
Check out our favourite tennis players at the Brisbane International before we watch them on the main stage at the Australian Open in January!
Go camping at Straddie
Enjoy a cheese platter put together by the amazing Cheese Pleasers
Have the cities BEST Mango gelato
Go indoor rock climbing at Crank
Have a picnic at Burleigh Heads
Enjoy an ice cold drink at the newest openings at Howard Smith Wharves
Pat kangaroos and koalas at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary
Relax by the water at River Quay, with an Italian fiesta from Popolo
Do a few Park Runs at our local park, or through South Bank
Spend a bit too long at the beach (anywhere between Caloundra and Tweed Heads)
Get your friends together, buy a picnic basket, fill up your car, and discover what our incredible state has to offer this Summer! Just remember to load up on sunscreen (Australia’s sun is harsh), drink plenty of water (between crisp ciders from James Squire and wine tastings at Mt Nathan Winery), and drive safe!
