Korin - Eat Sleep Play (for kids)
Korin is a mum, partner, corporate hustler, small biz owner and social butterfly! 9-5 you’ll find her rocking a power suit, and outside of ‘corporate’ life she’s juggling her small business – Eat Sleep Play (for kids), being mummy to Jayden and Blake, wifey to Josh and trying to be and do everything in between. She has an online shopping addition, loves food and wine, nights out with friends, a tropical island and reading trashy fiction for downtime … Oh and is also addicted to reality TV (aren’t we all?) Family is life and comes first no matter what 👨👩👦👦
What advice would you give to your 15 year old self?
Say YES to everything (within reason) and make yourself uncomfortable. I know that putting yourself out there can be quite scary and vulnerable, but the reward is so worth it, you’ll surprise yourself – most times you can do it (and even if you fail it’s still an opportunity to learn and grow)!
What makes you proud to be a woman?
Everything (but then I’ve never been a man)! I love that in this day and age, women can have it all – the family and the career and everything in between.
What has been the biggest challenge in your career so far?
Finding the right the balance – since becoming a mum it was suddenly not just about me and it took me a while to get it right. When I thought about my non-negotiables and prioritised what was important in my life, it allowed me to make decisions about my career and what I was prepared to forego in order to get the balance right. It’s always a work in progress and far from perfect but I take each day as it comes and have amazing support both personally and professionally.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
A teacher – I think it’s the qualities that attracted me to that profession. Albeit I never became a teacher but as a leader I do love supporting others on their own journey to success (same as teaching I suppose)!
Who inspires you the most and why?
Lady Gaga – she has been in the limelight a lot lately and her story is inspiring. It’s not always about winning, it’s about not giving up. Your journey will never be a straight road from start to end but its what you learn along the way that makes it all the worthwhile.
On a personal note, it would be remiss of me not to mention my mum. She is superwoman - I am the mum I am today because of the mum she continues to be to me every day.
